Several local fishermen spent days at Thesalon Canada on a fishing trip. Well known farm couple robbed in Shelby County

Shelby County authorities and state police investigate the robbery of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Saiger, prominent farmers in the area. Seized by three gunmen entering after 10 p m, the pair were bound and the house sacked. Cash totaling 180 dollars, a 17 jewel white gold pocket watch, a cigarette lighter, shotgun shells and rifle bullets missing. several checks and a diamond stick pin and ring left behind.

Services Held for former Carthage resident Georgia Bradford

Funeral services were held at Roy ster and Askren Mortuary in Indianapolis for Mrs. Georgia Bradford 61 a former Carthage resident. She died at 22 S Mount Street in Indianapolis. Survived by husband Ernest two daughters Roselynn Wolfe and Jean McKillip four grandchildren sister Mrs Lawrence McDaniel and brother Dale Green. The Bradford and McDaniel families formerly owned a department store in Carthage.

Former Charlottesville Resident Dies in Texas

Herman Watson, who lived north of Charlottesville, died of a heart attack last Friday at his Texas home. He is survived by his mother and siblings, including a sister Mrs. Charles Webb of New Palestine. All attended the services in Texas.

Band March at State Fair Draws 47 Counties

Indiana high school bands from 47 counties prepare for the State Fair contest on Thursday August 30 at 8 00 am CST. Bands march 132 yards past 15 000 spectators toward the finish within 2 1 2 minutes with $760 in cash prizes to the winners and all participants receiving certificates. The event is free with seating on a first come basis and bands travel by chartered bus arriving Thursday morning.
