Paul Voronaeff, renowned lecturer and author, will share his experiences in Communist Russia at 7:30 P.M. on July 13 at the Carthage Community Center. Rushville Man Killed in State Road 100 Wreck

A head on collision on State Road 100 north of Indianapolis left John W. Miers 62 dead at Marion County General Hospital and Lloyd Kiffmeyer and a year old baby also killed. Rev Ray Crawl and Mrs Crawl survived and were hospitalized along with Mrs Miers and her husband’s relatives. Funeral plans for Miers set for Friday at Master and Sons Mortuary with burial at Arlington East Hill Cemetery.

Joe C. Foust son of Mr Carl Foust of R R Carthage spent two days at Ball State Teachers College this week attending freshmen orientation and enrolling for fall classes. He is a 1960 graduate of Carthage High School where he played baseball and basketball and led student government and senior class. He will major in pre-med at Ball State.

Little Leaguers Remain Undefeated In 13-6 Carthage Victory

Carthage fifth and sixth graders beat Manilla 13-6 as all Carthage runs came in the second and third innings. Porter tops with four hits and Stevens adds three. Earnest collects two for Manilla. Manilla later reversed with a 5-4 win, Zimmerman and Webster tallying two hits each. C Lafuse and Porter bat for Carthage, Chandler and Webster for Manilla. High School Summer Bowling League Opens With Four Teams

The summer high school league started last Wednesday night June 27 with four teams of three boys each. Ron Weidner opened with 201 in the first game, while Gene Patterson struck out the last seven frames for a 224 total, beating Weidner’s team in the opener. Curtis D. Lovill of Gardiner Maine was elected International President at Lions International 45th annual convention in Nice France. Lions International with 640000 members in 116 countries is the world’s largest service club, known for youth programs community service sight conservation and aid to the blind. Whitfield Family Vacation Visit to Indiana Parks

The Ripley Needletwisters 4H Club met at Carthage School Home Ec room with 23 members. Sue Mosier led the flag pledges and Darlene Barry led group singing. Demonstrations on sugar cookies and a pressed flower were given. The next meeting is set for July 20 at 1 p.m. Dates for the Rush Co fair and dress revue were announced with exhibit and record deadlines in July.

International Building features German exhibits at Indiana State Fair

The Indiana State Fair International Building runs August 25 to September 5 with German displays of business equipment and transportation from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, German crafts, color photography gear, and daily entertainment from foreign lands. Also showcased are an Able space monkey replica, a US Army Cavalcade of Progress exhibit, and Icelandic goods including fur boots and wood carvings with Education Day events and rewards for teachers.
