Alaska visitor returns after cancer society convention

Fenner Named Director at Mershon Medical Lab Mooresville

Larry E. Fenner, medical technician, has become head of the Mershon Medical Laboratory at Kendrick Hospital in Mooresville Indiana. He previously served as an assistant to the director at the Indianapolis Mershon Lab and is a Carthage High School and Elkhart University alumnus. He and his wife reside in Indianapolis.

Local Soldier Reassigned in Vietnam

Staff Sergeant John R. Hinshaw from Carthage Indiana joined the 101st Airborne near Phan Rang Vietnam on December 27. Hinshaw entered active duty in 1955 and previously posted at Fort Campbell Kentucky. His mother Mrs Garnet Popejoy of New Castle Indiana and wife Katharina of Clarksville Pennsylvania are listed as next of kin.

The Rush County Soil and Water Conservation District annual banquet on January 19 at the Durbin Hotel drew 116 attendees. Ellis Hollingsworth presented a plaque to Loyd R. A Saturday evening wedding and reception were held at 7 30 p m at the Christian Church in Knightstown. Attending from Carthage were Donald Ruby and wife Clyde Ruby and daughter Arlene, Hubert Hunt and Loyal Hunt, Jim Ellis and daughter Carole, and fiancé Larry Marsh. Brian Ellis is the grandson of Donald and Clyde Ruby and of Edgar Ellis of Knightstown and son of Max Ellis of Knightstown.
