The Friends Missionary Society held a postponed meeting yesterday afternoon with Mrs William P Henley. Rev C N Willson attended a Methodist ministers gathering in Indianapolis Monday. The Christian Helpers earned 8.25 from the apron booth and 6.55 from market sales Saturday afternoon. Fletcher M E Church furnace was found in poor condition last week with a cracked top and malfunctioning dampers. repairs were made and the furnace should last the rest of winter. A stove was placed in the League room for services.

Fire near miss at Morris home prompts quick neighbor aid
Sunday blaze endangers a two story frame house owned by Henry Morris northwest of Carthage. Neighbors and occupants fought flames from a heating stove draft issue. Mrs Morris and others checked attic spaces. one injury occurs when a headboard falls injuring Mrs Luther Gibson. Insurance discussed post fire.

Fire damages Norris residence in Rushville area

Farmers Co L R Webb, Rushville actuary, assisted with loss adjustment. Mr and Mrs Morris lodged with the Bridges while their home is repaired.
