Stroke Fatal for William Ray Prominent Carthage Farmer
William Ray of Carthage died at 10 30 am after a weeklong stroke. Born March 12 1872 in Rush county he was a lifelong farmer in Rush and Shelby counties. He married Phoebe Moore in 1898 and leaves widow son Russell Ray of Shelbyville, two brothers John and David, and four sisters. Funeral at Arlington Christian church this Friday at 2 pm with Rev. R C Buck officiating. burial in Arlington cemetery.

The Community Theatre reopened last Saturday after five weeks for equipment installation and minor repairs. A businessmen sponsored free show ran from 1:00 p m to 11:00 p m drawing a large crowd. The Purdue Agricultural Conference drew about 4700 farm people.
