Aviator Robert C. French Dies in Texas Air Accident
Relatives report the accidental death of 30 year old Robert C. French in a Texas airplane crash on Tuesday. He was an aviation instructor and grandson of the late Barclay Binford of Walnut Ridge. Surviving brother Howard is serving in Tokyo. Body to be returned to Walnut Ridge for burial.

James Van Duyn Dies Suddenly at Home
James A. Van Duyn farmer living west of Carthage died of a heart attack at 6 15 Sunday morning. Born August 7 1878 in Madison county he was a member of Greenfield South Street Methodist Church. Surviving are widow Laura Adams two sons Forrest Greenfield and Lawrence Indianapolis two daughters Mrs Edgar Ellis Greenfield and Mrs Opal Noel Indianapolis one sister Mrs Ella Chapman Greenfield two brothers Grover Kankakee Ill and Alston Greenfield eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral was held Wednesday at 10 a m at Wilkinson Methodist Church with Rev Myers Bluffton and Rev Stephenson Greenfield officiating burial Harlan Cemetery north of Wilkinson.
