Auto Accident Fatal: Chase Hiner Dies at 35
Chase Hiner of Rush County died after a gravel road crash south of Georgetown. The 35 year old farmer, employed by the Federal Land Bank of Louisville, suffered a fractured skull and died in a Richmond hospital. He left a widow and two children Eddie Lee and Billie Chase, with multiple siblings surviving. Funeral services were held at Knights Town Methodist Church with burial in Glencove Cemetery.

Checks Arrive to Pay 60 Percent to Rushville Bank Depositors
The American National Bank at Rushville opened Tuesday to pay 60 percent to depositors. Checks totaling nearly $275 arrived Monday from Washington via the Comptroller of the Currency and were ready for depositors as doors opened at nine. Receiver Harry W DePrez said the checks were on the way and arrived Monday morning. Bank clerks prepared them for depositors and advised bringers to present the receiver's certificate to receive the 60 percent credit.
