Mrs A J Carr attended the annual meeting of the Child Welfare Association of Rush County held at Mrs Warder Wyatt’s home on Feb 15. Reports noted health program benefits and township cooperation with nurses teachers and county city efforts. Donations from Tri Kappa Psilota Xi Kappa Delta Phi Kappa Kappa Sigma Rushville Carthage Kiwanis and volunteers fund the work. Elks of Rushville handle three major dental cases with 37 eyeglasses 23 tonsillectomies and 18 dental corrections in 1940 though some tonislectomies were delayed. Additional contributions came from Noble Washington Fairholm Farms American Legion Auxiliary Richland Wide Awake Club Christmas Cheer Fund Center Walker Home Helpers Club Posey Jackson townships Orange and Anderson townships plus several clubs. The association thanks physicians dentists and opticians in Rush County.
