Glenwood Leads County Attendance With 96.22 Percent
Glenwood topped the county in attendance during the third six week period with 96.22 percent led by Mrs. Margaret Parmenter. Rushville Senior and Junior High tied for second at 96.10 percent. City schools averaged 94.32 percent while township schools averaged 94.38 percent. Total enrollment reached 4,374 with 1,546 in city schools and 2,828 in township schools.

Tom McManus reports the March of Dimes Corn for Polio campaign collected $2,668.10 across township tallies, up $361.83 from last year with 106 volunteers and about 1590 bushels of corn plus two bushels of wheat donated by county farmers. Awnings for the east side of Rush Memorial hospital were funded by a Saturday Lions Club event at the fairgrounds. The fish fry food sale and white elephant auction at the livestock pavilion grossed 2432.10 dollars with some receipts still to report. Net proceeds are expected to cover the metal awnings, joining similar west side improvements from two years ago. Six Lions Clubs participated from Car thage Mays Arlington Manilla New Salem and Rushville.
