Sugar Camps of Carthage Bring Winter Memories to Town
Kenneth L. Rhodes recalls Carthage maple syrup era with the Adkins camp at Sugar Grove Farm a 198 acre property. The camp tapped 2000 trees yearly and produced up to 460 gallons initial, employing up to 12 hands. Other historic camps include Aunt Abby Henley and Frank Foust, reflecting social gatherings, taffy pulls, chicken roasts and a thriving maple economy that waned as trees fell and camps closed.

Death of Mrs John Reed at Cambridge City
Mrs. John Reed died Saturday at her Cambridge City home after a long heart illness. She is survived by her husband, one daughter Betty Rose, and her parents. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 30 in Cambridge City. The Reeds once lived in Carthage where Mr Reed worked as a Standard Oil agent on North Main Street.

County Conservation Club Banquet Draws 72 In Rushville

Conservation clubs sell wildlife stamps in Indiana

Quarterly Meeting at Friends Church Revisits Stewardship
