Burial Thursday For Mrs. Marie E. Chapman
Mrs. Marie E. Chapman aged 73 of Greenfield and former Carthage resident died Monday at Hancock County Hospital after months of illness. Born June 19, 1888 in Ovid Michigan she was the daughter of George and Nellie Burleson Wellman. Her second husband Rev Everett W. Chapman survived along with son John B. Hodges and two grandchildren all of Cleveland Ohio. She was a Greenfield Friends Church member. Burial followed Thursday at Paoli Friends Cemetery after services at Paoli Friends Church.

County Forestry Judging Contest Honors Local 4H Teams
Thirteen 4H and FFA members took part in the county Forestry Judging contest at the Court House on Saturday February 3. First place went to the Mays team with Fred Smith and Gary Wiley. second to Milroy with Glen Rowland and Ray Ball. The top ten individuals received ribbons from the Rush County Stone Company and McCorkle Stone Company. The first two teams advance to the district contest on May 3 at Liberty.
