Masons Lodge Hosts Master Mason Degree

A capacity crowd of 45 attended Rush Lodge No. 580 F and AM last Thursday night February 2 as the Master Mason degree was conferred. Ten lodges were represented including Arthur Wilson of Sharon Lodge 250 Pennsylvania and Glenn Daugherty of Pem Lodge 19 Hartford. Rev. Earl Vaughn past grand chaplain of Indiana joined the group along with Indiana members. Refreshments followed the degree work and business meeting.

Luther Hall shows improvement after several weeks illness. Mrs. Callie Heim of R. 2 remains convalescent at home. Edna McDaniel of Rushville, formerly of Carthage, stays several days at Rush Memorial Hospital. Ross Tweedy improves at Community Hospital Indianapolis. Noah Leisure remains stable at his Carthage home. Mrs. Freeman Blessinger released from Major Hospital Shelbyville after weeks and major surgery. Bernice Branson remains a patient at Rush Memorial Hospital.

Van Nuys Woman Undergoes Major Surgery in Los Angeles

Miss Sue Ann Siler of Van Nuys California daughter of Mr and Mrs Russell Siler of Carthage underwent major surgery two weeks ago at the Orthopaedic Hospital at 2400 South Flower Street Los Angeles. Mrs Russell Siler has stayed with her daughter over two weeks and is expected to bring her home next week.

PTO to Sponsor Showing of Rev Guyatt Olympiad Photos

The Carthage PTO will sponsor a showing of Rev Frank C Guyatt1964 Olympic pictures at the Carthage Community Center Monday February 20 at 7 p.m. Advance ticket sales will be by 4th 5th and 6th grades. Adults 50 cents and children under 12 25 cents. Tickets go on sale next week by the grade children.

Carthage Raiders Triumph 79-68 at Cadiz Gym

The Carthage Raiders extended their win streak with a 79-68 victory over Cadiz. Dave Hunt scored a season high 26 points on 11 field goals and 4 free throws as Carthage led 34-32 at halftime and 56-48 after three quarters. Hugh Roberts Honored by Eli Lilly for 25 Years

Hugh Roberts of Carthage received a 25 year service honor from Eli Lilly in Indianapolis and Greenfield. He received a wrist watch and certificate at a ceremony at the Indianapolis home office with a post event reception. A further honor occurred at his daughter’s home in Carthage with family present.

Ethel Collins Dies Suddenly at 67

Mrs. Ethel M. Collins, 67, of Hamilton County, daughter of William Hoover and Ardella Cotner, born July 5, 1899, wed to James Collins on October 17, 1926.
