Mrs Annie Biddlecum wife of Rev Homer Biddlecum pastor of Walnut Ridge and Charlottesville Friends churches died at her Charlottesville home on Tuesday at 8 10 am after months of ill health. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 30 pm at Charlottesville Friends church. Body sent to Clarksville Ohio for burial. She is survived by her husband two sisters and three brothers.

Five Rush county farmers sent twenty ears to Dr. C T Gregory of Purdue University for testing. The results show the corn fell well below the county average last year. County agent Mr Brown announced the seed corn tester will operate in his office at the courthouse and urged notify plans to use the service at full capacity.
School Number 1 in Union township Shelby county three and a half miles northwest of Manilla on Gwynneville road burned early Friday. All 31 students books and supplies were destroyed. Fire likely from overheated stoves. Pupils will transfer to Gwynneville for the rest of the year. A new consolidated grade school planned to replace the burned building. Construction to begin as weather permits.
Knights of Pythian Lodges and Pythian Sisters temples from Henry Delaware Rush Wayne Hancock counties met February 4 in Knightstown for an afternoon and evening family gathering. Joe W. Todd of Hammond Grand chancellor Fern Beber of Fort Wayne Grand Chief and Rachel Jones of East Chicago Grand Senior were honor guests. A pitch-in supper followed by music and entertainment. Dusty Miller announced his bid for county auditor on the Republican ticket as the filing period opens. The May 5 primary marks his first official declaration on either ticket, and he is well known for eight years as county chairman and long service to the Republican party.

The Chapman home four miles north of Carthage on the Jonas Oakerson farm burned Saturday afternoon while the family was away. Neighbors Malcolm Herrington and a Knights Town man, driving past, found smoke, forced entry, and saved ground floor furniture with others help. They moved canned goods and nine bushels of potatoes from the basement. upstairs remained inaccessible. A butchered hog and a son's clothing were lost with the dwelling.
Anxious inquiries reach Shelbyville to locate relatives of Charles Elmer Holmes who is hospitalized in Chicago and not expected to live. Relatives are asked to contact Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson at 1314 South Spalding Street or Crofton 6957 in Chicago. The notice ties Holmes to the McDonalds of Shelby County.
Rushville tied for first in a Franklin tourney with Logansport Wiley of Terre Haute and Tech of Indianapolis among eighteen teams. Logansport won, while Rushville defeated Frankfort. The squad of Billie Louise Muir and Fred Catt plus Helen Stephenson and Evan Stiers earned a silver loving cup.

The Arlington school hosted Rural Electrification talk and Bunk House Serenaders entertainment. A pitch in supper preceded Jackson township session and Moscow church hosted Orange bureau program.
