Patrolman William Garrison of the Rushville police force and WWI veteran was shot and killed by William Brown age 20 in Rushville Tuesday evening. Brown fled toward a barn lot but was arrested at Carey Pollitt’s Filling Station near Evansville. Brown faces first degree indictment. Garrison remembered as a respected officer and community member.
