Purdue Glee Club Heads West for California

Mike Whitfield with about sixty Purdue Glee Club members departed Lafayette by chartered plane early Wednesday to California. Indiana agricultural economist Bob Jones of Purdue predicts higher beef cattle prices in 1967 due to a smaller calf crop, modest feeder imports, reduced cow slaughter, and strong fed beef demand. Slaughter steer prices may rise 1 to 1.5 dollars per hundredweight by mid winter, with Chicago choice steers averaging 27 to 32 dollars in early 1967.
