Youth Rally at Carthage Friends Church Draws Crowd

A Sunday rally at Carthage Friends Church attracted strong attendance. Misses Janet and Jane Hunt led music while Gene Lew is preached. Jane Hunt Janet Hunt Linda Wells and Connie Dalrymple performed a clarinet duet. Youth group served refreshments afterward.

Nellie B Pitts 62 a Carthage practical nurse died at Hancock Memorial Hospital after a three week illness. She was born November 29 1899 in Brown County daughter of George and Clara Helms. She lived in Carthage 15 years coming from Indianapolis. Harry Leadbetter Dies After Weeklong Illness

Harry William Leadbetter 70 of Carthage died 3 48 pm Tuesday at Rush Memorial Hospital after a weeklong illness. He owned the local drug store since 1951 after moving from Greensburg where he spent 23 years at Battertons and worked at Spiceleys and Walcotts. Born June 14 1891 in Wilmington Ohio he was married to Irene Ford since 1910. He leaves a widow a son in Oklahoma City a daughter in St Paul and two grandchildren.
