Arrest of Rex Thompson in Rose Hill over drunkenness
Rex Thompson, 52, Carthage R. R., was arrested by Town Marshal Hugh Trowbridge last Sunday night for drunkenness and disorderly conduct after being found on Oran Henley’s lawn in Rose Hill Addition around 9:45 p.m. He was arraigned in Rushville City Court, fined $10 and costs totaling $25.50, and sentenced to 60 days at the State Farm.

Donald Stoten Sr of Ripley township wins the 5 acre soybean yield contest in Rush County with 48.8 bushels per acre. Cecil Hartman of Jackson Township is runner up at 46.8. Clarence Dyer leads third at 45.7 and Kenneth Oldham fourth at 45.5. Four earn green gold medals for above 45 bushels. Donald Stoten Jr and Clarence Arnold win gold and silver medals for 44.0 and 36.7 bushels respectively. This marks the highest yields reported since the contest began.
