Camera Club Christmas Meeting in Carthage

About thirty members gathered Monday at the Carthage Community Center for a Christmas season meeting of the Carthage Camera Club. President Hubert Hunt led a brief business session as secretary pro tem Mrs. Paul McDaniel took notes. Eugene Kemple screened a film on Rush County Tuberculosis Association work. The program featured Trumpet solos by David Ruby, Pam Hunt and Sara Jane Hunt duets, Jimmie Ellis trumpet, Pam Hunt and Sara Jane Hunt duet, and a piano solo by Kelly Veach. The social included a gift exchange and Christmas refreshments hosted by Mr and Mrs Thomas Bush, Mrs Helen Nelson, and Norman Winkler.

Rush County Corn Show setup and judging schedule

Members of the works committee report at the Courthouse at 8 80 Thursday morning to set up tables and equipment. Exhibits arrive between Thursday noon and Friday noon and judging begins Friday at noon. A display features baskets of corn from the ten highest yield 5 acre plots with growers detailing fertility and practices. Eagles rout Pirates as R-R announces EC freshman dates

Refereeing The Charlottesville Eagles defeated the Mc Cordsville Pirates 66 to 53 on the Pirates home floor. Oakes led scorers with 17, Holliday 15, Kitner 13, and Denny 14. The Pirates rallied in the final quarter but failed to overcome the early Eagle lead. East Central Conference announced freshman basketball dates January 23 and 25 with finals at Spiceland.
