Carthage Home Sold as Edwards Family Takes Residence

Mr C H Nixon sold his Carthage home to Mr and Mrs Jerry Edwards who have not yet found a new residence. Rex Edwards occupy the upstairs apartment. State Bank of Carthage distributed Christmas Savings checks totaling 6345 25 and begins a 1958 Christmas Club enrollment. Carthage Lions Club Christmas party and dinner set for Monday December 9 at 7 PM at the Community Center.

Moore of Muncie suffers stroke in Rushville

W. O. Moore of Muncie and formerly of Carthage has had a stroke. Receipt of the news came to Mrs. Nelle Hill who is convalescing at the Jackson Nursing Home in Rushville.

Local births reported at Rush Memorial Hospital

Mr and Mrs Danny Norfleet of Carthage welcomed a daughter born Tuesday at Rush Memorial hospital. Mr and Mrs Rex Skinner reported a 6 lb 9 oz son, Wayne Allen, born Wednesday November 27 at Rush Memorial hospital. Baby Wayne is grandson of Mr and Mrs Lewis Hinton.

The 51st annual Christmas Seal Sale opened November 15 and has raised 2095 35 to date, 202 25 less than last year. Ripley Township reports 112 25 toward a 300 00 quota. if the target is to be met by December 25, faster contributions are needed. Mrs Cecil Pike notes the four fronts of the campaign health education case funding rehabilitation and research, with 82 percent staying in Rush County.
