Accident injures local farmer after field work
Mr Charles I Herkless of the southeast region is recovering from injuries after October 8 when a horse plunged while he was unsaddling his team near the barn. The family has suffered four horse related accidents including two fatalities Daniel aged 17 was killed by a runaway team, Darwin died from a kick, and John broke an elbow.

Douglas Dickerson aged 70 years 5 months died at his home Tuesday night at 6 45 from pneumonia. He worked as night watchman for Carthage Container Corporation and had thirty years at the paper mill. Survived by two children Eugene of Carthage and Mrs Jesse McFarland of Rushville and three grandchildren. wife preceded him about eighteen months ago. Funeral Thursday at 2 00 p m from the residence conducted by Dr James Furbay pastor of the Friends church. Interment in Town Cemetery.
