Rural Youth Club Holds November Meeting at Farm Bureau

The Rush County Rural Youth Club gathered November 19 at the Farm Bureau Store Building with president Darvin Cull presiding. Rosemary Oesterling reported on the State Rural Youth Convention in Indianapolis and state officers were elected, with Kelso Wessel named president and Meredith Speicher first vice president. Committee chairs were chosen, bowling and basketball team heads named, guests from nearby counties attended, and Kelso Wessel gave a talk with slides on Bolivia as recreation followed by refreshments.

Farmers Institute Set at Manilla Four Townships

The Four Township Farmers Institute will convene at the Manilla School Building on Friday and Saturday, December 27 and 28. Speakers will cover Indiana State Parks and soil conservation practices in Rush County. Exhibits by 4H members and adults, cake walk, music, readings, and township entertainments are planned. A final officers meeting will be held November 29 to finalize reports.
