Greenfield Man Finds Dow Metal Balloon Debris
Carl Cooper of Greenfield found a punctured rubber balloon east of the city with a tag from Dow Chemical Co Milan Michigan. Tiny aluminum balls attached to the tag indicate a Dow metal alloy similar to material used in Commander G W Settle’s stratosphere balloon. The item appears to have been released from Chicago two months earlier. Cooper mailed the card to Dow in Milan as directed.
