Mrs. John DeSchipper sustained a sprained wrist last Thursday in an automobile accident at Indianapolis. The car was badly damaged and the couple returned to the city this week to drive the vehicle home.

Former local man in town with family after stock show
Luther Dubois of Woodland California, formerly of this place, visited Friday to Sunday with his mother Mrs Will Siler and his son Forest plus two boys Phillip Leiser and Richard Rumsey. They attended the National Stock Show in Kansas City and competed against California schools, earning top state honors to represent California at the National Roundup Forest. Dubois won first in cattle judging, Leiser and Rumsey finished third and fourth. On the return trip he planned to visit Grand Canyon and other sites.

Ripley Township Club Enjoys Thanksgiving Meeting
Mrs James McGeorge hosted Ripley country Club Thursday afternoon for a Thanksgiving program. Seven members answered roll call and Miss Freda McGeorge played a violin solo. Mrs Ed Ruby presented a paper on Thanksgiving in Pioneer Days. 4 H club members from Center township led by Irene Gilson gave a demonstration. Refreshments were served by the hostess and Mrs Sarl Sears during social hour.

Denver Pea Sentenced After Jail Escape and Robbery
Denver Pea, who escaped from Rushville jail in September and surrendered Sunday night to Ed Compton, was sentenced Monday to ten to twenty-five years in the Indiana State prison for automobile banditry. He pleaded guilty to the holdup of Dr. D. D. Dra, a veterinarian, while they were en route to Pea’s home to care for a sick horse. Pea had recently visited his ex-wife near here after spending time in the Southwest since the escape.

Collins George 18 son of Dr and Mrs Ray George of near Knightstown died Thursday at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital after ten days of treatment for leukemia.
