The Bush Circuit Court Commissioner by order in the case Sarah Jane Frazier v Mabel Helt et al number 7213 gives notice of sale to be held at 10:00 A.M. on a date to be announced. The sale is authorized by the court to satisfy a judgment or lien as provided by law and is conducted under the rules for judicial sales.
Floyd J. Newby Commissioner and William F. Marshall attorney arrange private sale of 221 acres rural land in Ripley Township Rush County and Knightstown area with several tracts totaling 149.96 acres and 51.56 acres plus 2 additional acres. Sale anchored to Federal Land Bank and Federal Farm Mortgage Corporation liens with cash balance for any excess. Property lies two and a half miles SW of Knightstown and two and a half miles N of Carthage.
A Sunday service at Beech drew one of the largest crowds in memory. Rev Hillard Saunders of Indianapolis led the program with several numbers assisted by an eighteen member Indianapolis choir. Carthage A M E church members operated the refreshment stand, reporting 54 dollars in receipts. Attendees included many from Pittsburg Harrisburg Ontario Canada Benton Harbor Jackson Cass County Noblesville Marion Louisville and Indianapolis with crowds also from Rushville Knights Towr and Newcastle.

The 10th annual reunion of the John B. Earnest school will be held at the Hannegan church next Sunday after morning worship. A pitch-in dinner will be served at noon. A memorial service for J. H. Ayres, president of the reunion from its inception, will be part of the program. Pupils, friends, and all interested are invited.
Indiana trout season runs from April 1 to August 31 as Hoosier anglers in northern streams wrap up five months of good fishing. Reports include two brown trout about a pound and a half each from the Kankakee River in Porter county.
The Eastern Holiness Association opened its annual camp meeting at Salvation Park in Cleveland last Friday night with strong attendance. Several locals joined the services on Sunday.
Hancock Post No. 119 of Greenfield took first prize at the State Legion convention parade in Indianapolis Morday with four floats. The floats depicted the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, and scenes from James Whitcomb Riley's life. Indianapolis Post No. 4 earned second, Garfield Post No. 88 third, and Indianapolis Power and Light Post fourth.
Christian Endeavor will meet Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo Holwager for the first after conference meeting. An outdoor recreational program is also planned.
Lum n Abner will appear at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday August 31 opening day. An amateur contest open to Indiana residents with $300 in prizes will precede the appearance with preliminary trials at noon and a final in the Coliseum judged by the audience. Lum n Abner are 33 and 29 years old and will perform in character. Admission is 50 cents including grounds and Coliseum seating.
Ripley township schools begin Friday August 30 at 9 00 a m for enrollment and organization. No school on Labor Day. classes resume Tuesday September 3 at 8 30 a m. August 30 set for book collection. Second hand books invited. County teachers Institute held at Rushville Court House on August 29 1935.
James D. Adams of the State Highway Commission appeals to motorists to use extra care when entering state highways from side roads where crops or weeds may block view. After five deaths in one week at such intersections, more accidents have been reported statewide. The commission has stop through highway signs and reflector caution signs to reduce hazards and urged vigilance to lower crash numbers.
The state highway system shows 4376 contractors and 4876 workmen on August 1, up nearly 500 from July 1. This count reflects on site labor only, excluding state highway commission staff. Federal aid projects coming under contract may push highway construction employment higher in fall and winter.

The Highland's Beauty, an Ayrshire cow owned by Ralph B. Henry of Bluffton, is named the state’s most profitable dairy cow by the National Ayrshire Breeders Association. Over seven years she produced 86,300 pounds of milk and 3,956 pounds of butterfat, with butterfat cost under 12 cents per pound and milk at 55 cents per hundredweight. Her best year was 1929 with a $236.34 feed-cost surplus.
Surface treatment and dust preventive work on more than 1,500 miles of state highways will be completed within weeks. Stone and gravel surfaces are over eighty percent finished and should end soon with favorable weather. This year’s greater mileage treatment improves winter traffic conditions.

W. S. Newhouse, 76, a prominent Rush county farmer, was killed and his son Leon, 27, seriously injured when their car was struck by an interurban one mile north of Dunreith on a gravel road. Mrs. Newhouse escaped uninjured. Leon was taken to Green Hospital, funeral services were held at the residence with Rev. George Holwager in charge and burial followed at East Hill cemetery in Rushville.
Mrs. Martha Fitch announces the marriage of her son Wooten Fitch to Miss Florence Rausch daughter of Mrs. Jacob Rausch of Evansville. The ceremony was held June 12 at Mt Vernon and the couple reside in Evansville.
The Carthage Citizen and its asset list are sold to C. E. Wooldridge of Shelbyville, effective Saturday evening August 31. The previous management resumes ownership in April 1934 and urges local business support for the paper’s success through advertising and printing services.
Regular church services are planned for next Sunday with Rev. W. G. Manchester taking charge as the new pastor.
East St. Christian Church hosts a special off to school program Sunday morning with a sermon on The Golden Key. Bible school starts at 9 30 and worship follows at 10 30. The first night service in over a month is at 7 30 Sunday with special music and a message. A youth echo meeting Tuesday features reports on summer activities and special numbers. Adults welcome.

The Fletcher M E Church canceled the Tuesday Sunday school picnic due to bad weather illness and harvest work. The Official Board met to plan the conference year end and will reconvene September 9th. Dr J W McFall leads the September 10th fourth quarterly meeting and devotional service at 7 30 PM followed by the conference.
The Chor Club gathered at H. O. Pitts home with hostess Mrs. Maurice Bell. A. J. Carr led a paper on Indian Music, followed by two vocal solos by Elsie Chappell and tribal songs on Victrola by Pos. Oak Jim. Guests included Mrs. Herman Gillis and Mrs. Paul Gordon. Next meeting planned with Maude Porter.
Rev. W. G. Manchester named new minister for Wesleyan church in town and at Little Blue. He and Mrs. Manchester with two small children will relocate from Miami this Thursday.
