Mrs. A J Carr and Mr and Mrs M S Kyser share hosting duties. James Tarbet of Rushville visited his mother Mrs Mary Tarbet over the weekend. Miss Irene Hileman and Robert spent Monday at the state air event.
Herbert McCorkhill was named town marshal by the Town Council at a salary of $30 per month after a bid process with ten bidders ranging from $25 to $60. The 1936 budget was approved and lighting rates were set to save about $150 yearly. a meeting was delayed due to member attendance. The council also accepted an invitation from Greenfield fire department for Carthage wardens to attend the cope school of instruction starting September 9.

Miss Mary Elizabeth Gatewood was in Indianapolis Monday. Friday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Norris were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beaver of Chicago. R. M. Allen of Richmond spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Stone. Mrs. Allen and son Robert returned home with him after a short visit.

Mr and Mrs H G Henley came back Saturday from a East tour. In Boston he attended the national convention of rural mail carriers and he is vice president of the Indiana state rural mail carriers association. They visited Independence Square Liberty Bell Philadelphia New York City and Portland Maine then Vermont New Hampshire Adirondack mountains Niagara Falls and Canada before Detroit Michigan.
Mr and Mrs Fred McManus and Mr and Mrs Murray McManus were en route to the Indianapolis fair when their car collided with Walter Jessup's car at the Amos Hill crossroad south of Charlottesville. All occupants escaped injury and damage to the autos was light.
About twenty five people attended the Tanner and Thomas Hill re union held at Mrs Anna Phelps home last Sunday. The next re union will convene on the first Sunday in September at Sherman Hill in Falmouth.
