Wright Leads Women’s Building at State Fair Amid Exhibits

Death claims two Carthage area residents

Howard Newsom 78 of Greenfield and Fred W. Posey 80 of Rush County died within days of each other. Newsom, born May 11, 1888 in Carthage, a Purdue graduate and former Westinghouse electrical engineer, died at his East Main Street home. survivors include brother Floyd Newsom and niece Katherine Henley. Funeral services were at Hampton Mortuary with burial in Carthage Friends Cemetery. Posey, longtime Rush County resident, died at Rush Memorial Hospital after a decline in health. survived by son Frederick Eugene Posey and two sisters. services were held at Hampton Mortuary with entombment in Rushville East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.

Harvey Says Subcommittee Deadlocks on Electric Financing Plan

In Washington D C August 11 congressman Ralph Harvey said the House Agriculture Committee subcommittee failed to approve the Administration's rural electric financing plan. In eight seasons at Mays his record stood 68 wins 100 losses with many strong teams. his best 1965 run was 17 wins and 6 losses including a sectional win over Morristown.
