Contributions sought, prizes for largest registering family, and plans for vendors, rides, and a radio program.

It describes two colored Churches, Methodist and Christian, with buildings and Sunday Schools. Arthur Lineback a veteran Carthage retailer with a variety store and tailor shop began in 1893 with Morton Barber and later worked for Gurney Nixon before starting his own business in 1902 with brief interludes. Geo Winslow, starting in John Roberts barber shop in 1893, served with multiple employers before opening his own barber business on April 13 1913 and remaining active with only rare interruptions due to sickness.
