Local People In Auto Accident Near Cadiz
Mrs. John Benson 69 was seriously injured in an automobile collision on road 38 four miles west of Cadiz. Her car struck by a westbound vehicle driven by E G Scotten of New Castle. Benson suffered a fractured pelvis and possible internal injuries. she was taken to Henry County Hospital. Scotten had minor bruises and shock.

Charles Nigh aged 70 died at his home Sunday night after a 20 year illness. A Shelby County native born May 29 1870 he lived here since 1919. He married Rebecca Gaston April 28 1890. Survivors include wife three daughters Myrtle Roberts Mary Taylor Amelia Mann five sons Clancy Dewey Harry Earl Sam a brother Elsworth two sisters and sixteen grandchildren. The funeral for Elmer F Porter Jackson township farmer was held at his residence Monday afternoon with Rev Lawrence Maines of East Street Christian church officiating. Interment followed at Little Blue River cemetery. Porter died at Henry County hospital in New Castle where his wife was a patient. Death of Mrs Frank Coons
Mrs Frank Coons a former Carthage resident died last week at her Cincinnati home after a sudden illness. A cerebral hemorrhage caused her death. Survivors include her husband two daughters Ellenor Jo and Patricia Ann her mother Mrs D D Hobbs of Rushville. The Coons lived in Carthage several years ago before moving to Cincinnati.

Funeral Rites Held For Ernest Marrow And Major Miner
Relatives from Carthage New Castle Maple Valley and Checotah Oklahoma attended services for Ernest Marrow at 2 pm Sunday with burial in Knightstown. Major Miner son of Harvey and Kathrine Glass Miner died after six weeks of agranulocytosis contracted in Louisiana while surveying for a large oil company. Both men were nephews of Mrs. Reddick Mrs. Parish and Ed and John Miner of this place.
