Real Estate Sales Decline in Rush County in July

Rush County real estate sales fell in July while transfer activity stayed brisk. Total estimated value reached about 182000, the lowest since March, with city sales around 76000 and farm land about 79000. Transfers of small town and subdivision property accounted for roughly 27000, per county recorder Olive L. Miller.

The Arlington Lions Club will complete an 80 by 80 foot outdoor play court on school grounds this summer. The Carthage softball team beat Richmond K. C. 9 to 1 in the district tournament at Connersville. Carthage had 8 hits led by Norm McCorkle and Bob Stephens with two apiece and McCorkle drove in three runs. Richmond managed five scattered hits and crossed for their lone run in the final inning. International and Arlington win in Arlington softball league

International crushed Carthage 13 to 10 as Northam Fahrner and Cox had two hits each and Pruitt homered. Arlington defeated Carrollton 20 to 4 behind Williams Webb and Nelson two base hits, Nelson homer, and Mohr driven in.
