Miss Virginia Garby of Hamilton and William Black of Carthage wed in Covington on August sixth. Claribel Sipe married Ralph Bentley Winslow at the bride’s mother's home Wednesday night. The Big Four resumed morning and evening passenger trains with a gasoline engine starting last Monday. Mrs. Jennie Pitts died Tuesday near Straughn. she is survived by her husband and three sons, plus siblings.

4-H Tractor Driving Contest Dates Set in Indiana
Indiana districts will hold county contests before the state event at the Indiana State Fair on September 1. Two junior and two senior contestants from each of nine districts will compete. The program emphasizes safe operation and tractor maintenance tests. Since 1945, over 30 000 boys have enrolled, with 600 men trained at the annual Leaders Clinic at Purdue. District dates: Bedford August 10 in Bloomington. Madison August 13 in Charlestown. Indianapolis August 17 in Greensburg. Fort Wayne August 21 in Albion.

Farm News: 4-H Demonstrations At Indiana State Fair
Donna Truitt of Center Township was named to represent the Indianapolis District 4-H in a special demonstration contest at the Indiana State Fair on canning and frozen vegetables.
