Mrs. Virginia Sorrell of Dunreith escaped serious injury at the Rush County Fair when a large industrial tent collapsed in a wind and thunderstorm last Thursday. Three people were injured. Sorrell suffered head and shoulder injuries and a minor electric shock. She was treated at Rush Memorial hospital and released.

Miss Anne Campbell Returns From 8000 Mile Camp Trip
Miss Anne Campbell daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Campbell R R Carthage returned home after a six week camping expedition spanning eight thousand miles. The Camp Pennington trip involved forty eight high school students from the United States and England visiting the western United States Mexico and four Canadian provinces. Mr and Mrs Campbell met their daughter in Ann Arbor Michigan and brought her home.

Carthage defeated Fairland 11 to 4 to move to 9-2 atop the Arlington Softball League standings.
