An open competitive exam to fill the Carthage post master position will be held Saturday April 24 at 9 a.m. in the Knightstown High School Building. Applicants must report by 8:30 a.m. Grace Howard assists, with George Underwood helping. The local vacancy date is May 15, 1926, and candidates include Miss Pearle Coffin, Mrs Michael Kyser, Mrs Horace H. Foust, Miss Alta Garfield, Fred Brooks, J Arthur Lineback, and Thomas J Passwater.

Arlington prepares for a busy season as the corn canning factory completes offices, foundation and railroad connections. The Snider Preserve Co at Fairmount builds two new canning plants, steam lines service hot beds, and nearly 2,000,000 tomato plants will be grown while some farmers plant spinach.

Parker and family. Mr and Mrs H. H. Foust attended the funeral of Alfred L. Chew in Rushville. Bert Chew of Berrien Springs, Michigan, visited the Fousts Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Marshall Earnest of Agnew Calif plan a two week motoring trip to this place. Mrs W A Addison of Indianapolis is seriously ill. A son Jack Vernon was born April 18 to Mr and Mrs Ed Alexander. Mrs Alexander is at Elwood.
