Mrs. Mae Welsh of Carthage and Mrs. Edna Clarkson with Elmo Tacoma of Arlington returned from a fifteen day trip visiting Mrs. Clarkson’s son and wife Gene Clarkson in Tacoma Florida. They toured Cypress Gardens. The 4H Ripley Boosters met April 18 1961 at 4 00 p m after school. Jon Smith led the pledge and Leo Foust led the American flag pledge. Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. No old business. Dues planned for May 2. Officers to meet on dates for remaining meetings. Meeting adjourned. Reporter Leo Foust.

Three Day Farm Tour Planned In Indiana And Illinois
A three day farm educational tour is planned for August 23 to 25 with stops at beef cattle and hog farms around Frankfort in northwest Indiana and in Illinois. Everett Hester, Rush County ASC chairman, explains that benefits depend on individual situations. Entering the program yields payments for acreage retired from corn and grain sorghum and eligibility for price support loans. staying out means no price supports but free to grow feed grains. Cooperators divert 20 to 40 percent of 1959-60 acreage to soil conservation and receive surplus grain certificates. Indiana average corn support is $1.20 to $1.24 per bushel. Rush County support is $1.21.
