Wisehart Returns to Former Carthage Ties in Indiana Visit
Former Carthage High School coach Roy P. Wisehart, later a renowned educator and State Superintendent, visited longtime friends in Carthage on Monday. Now retired in Danville, Indiana, Wisehart’s 1912-1913 Carthage basketball team reached the State Tournament at Indiana University before losing to Rochester 47-13. He later led schools in Union City before Gov. Ed Jackson appointed him State Superintendent.
