The Carthage Brotherhood Sisterhood holds a regular meeting on Monday April 19 at 7 30 p m at the Community Center. A Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority meeting is announced for Tuesday evening at the same center with a white elephant sale to be held by members.
The Junior Ripley 4H Club met in the Ag Room on April 8 with 35 members. Mike Munden led the U S flag pledge and Dale Copple led the 4H flag pledge. Jane Skilman directed group singing. Dues were discussed and a demonstration was planned.
State Representative John A. Ruby of Carthage announced his candidacy for President of the Indiana Young Democrats at an Executive Committee meeting Sunday. Ruby, president of the 10th District Young Democrats, said the group has endorsed his bid.

Trustee Robert McKain announces that coach Rich ard Trubey, the assistant for two years, will replace Jordan as head coach. Trubey will also pursue a Master’s Degree next year.
The Sunday School department of East Street Christian Church announces an Easter egg hunt and Wiener roast for youths this Saturday April 17. Colored eggs should be donated. girls and boys meet at 4 30 at the church and proceed to the Leonard Jackson farm for the event with a covered dish.

The 43rd Annual Convention of Rush County Federation featured a report on Ireland by David Bills and an address by Judge Wm. Marshall of Rushville. Attendees from Carthage included Mrs. Loyal Hunt and others, with Lawrence Price listed as a patient at Irene Byron Hospital in Ft Wayne.
The Carthage Lions Club met for its regular session with Lloyd Manuel presiding. Funeral services for Fred Pfeiffer age 75 of Elmhurst Illinois were conducted at 10 am Tuesday at the Hampton Mortuary Carthage. He died Friday while en route to an Elmhurst hospital and was buried in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The report notes he was a retired account. Sunday afternoon guests of Mr and Mrs Henry Jessup were unnamed in the fragment.
