Death of Sister Anna Newsom Barrett at North Vernon
Mrs. Anna Newsom Barrett sister of Mrs. John Miner died early Friday at her daughter’s home in North Vernon from a heart ailment after a prior stroke. Knightstown Man Breaks Out Of Shelby Jail
John Bowen 29, jailed on theft charges for trailer thefts from farmers and selling them in Indianapolis, escaped Shelby county jail sometime Tuesday night. By Thursday morning he remained at large as Sheriff Fred Courtney and state police offered no details of the breakout.
