Mrs. Ella Brooks 70 Dies in Seymour Home
Mrs. Ella Brooks died at her Seymour home Tuesday after four years of bedfast illness. She was born June 12, 1875 in Brown County, married Frank Brooks November 17, 1897 in Columbus, and is survived by her husband, two daughters Lena Tuttle and Hazel Brooks, brothers John Brown of Columbus and James Brown of Indianapolis, and a grandson Robert Tuttle of Carthage. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Seymour.

Charles Gorman Dies in Knightstown Crash
Charles Gorman, 53, of Knightstown, was killed when a gravel truck went out of control and overturned into a ditch near Carthage. Sam Francis, also from Knightstown, was slightly injured as he drove the truck. he said steering gear failed, sending the vehicle into a cement culvert.

Former Carthage area resident Ornie I. Gardner died at his home near Fountaintown on Thursday evening from a heart attack. Born September 11, 1889 in Manilla, he was a farmer. Survived by widow Mary A. and his mother, plus two daughters, four sons, five grandchildren, and two brothers. Funeral held Sunday at Manilla Methodist Church. burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
