The Carthage Plant held a safety award dinner for about 40 people at the Durbin Hotel in Rushville on Wednesday night March 24 1965. Group No 3 led by Caleb Marsh completed six years without a lost time accident and Group No 5 led by Kenneth Brown four years. The plant reported 572 894 accident free man hours as of March 124 1965 with Safety Director Wilbur Mc Corkle presiding. Illinois guests Leon Hamilton and Steve Morris from Chicago Main Office attended and spoke on wax coating and paper. The event noted expansion plans for Container Corp of America.

Serena Blount 85 Dies At Home In Knightstown Area
Serena R. Blount aged 85 died at 5 20 a m Sunday at her home on R R 1 Knightstown four miles northwest of Mays after years of ill health. Born February 16 1880 to Lewis and Elizabeth Rhodes she lived in Center Township most of her life except one year in Washington Township. She married Raymond L. Blount on June 18 1902 who survives with three daughters Elizabeth Leisure Mildred Veach and Beulah Levy seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was a member of Center Christian Church the Friendly Circle and the Always Welcome Club.
