Community groups address rural air and water pollution
Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement hosted a Lake View meeting on rural pollution with speakers Rick Kelley of the University of Iowa Hygienic Lab and Julie Janssen of Clean Water Action. Kelley cited 150 plus polluted Iowa waters and rising nitrate levels while highlighting Lake Aquabi cleanup as a proven model. Janssen discussed Minnesota rules curbing toxic gas emissions from large farms after her family fell ill. A similar Humboldt meeting was noted.
