Baby Honor Roll Seeks to weigh and register infants
A 1918 appeal urges parents to bring children under six to a schoolhouse for weight and height checks to form a national roll of honor. It notes 28 babies die hourly in the US and that 70 percent of military disqualifications stem from preventable childhood defects. Registration runs Friday afternoon and Saturday in city stores for those in town.
