Shumaker to Lecture at Carlisle and Paxton

E S Shumaker state superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League will lecture Sunday at Carlisle M E church at 1 30 am Paxton at 2 30 pm and Bethlehem at 7 pm. He offers a noted talk ahead of the annual M E conference each year. Carlisle church service includes baptism of children presented by parents just before the lecture.

Hoover Returns Home From Spearfish Visit

Elmer G. Hoover, long in Spearfish for health, arrived home Friday night for a brief stay with relatives. Miss Agnes Scott visited her sister Mrs Heber Stevens over the weekend while traveling from Toledo to Owensville.

Farris Promoted to Buffalo and Susquehanna Rail Role

William E. Farris of Terre Haute announces acceptance of the assistant general manager post with the Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad. He will assume duties January 1 and with a $5,000 annual salary, leaving Evansville and Terre Haute after six years as superintendent of terminals.

Carlisle mine shot firer badly burned at work

Was Badly Burned. Will Cobb, the shot firer at the Carlisle mine, was badly burned about the face and hands Monday afternoon while performing his duties. The accident, as far as known, was caused by the firing of coal dust. Dr. G W Pirtle, the company physician, was summoned and attended the injured man. Cobb, who lives with Mr and Mrs Pleasant Jones, will be unable to work for two or three weeks.
