Executive named for rgilliere Bank in Idaho

Donald T Strickfaden has been named Executive Vice President of the Largilliere Company Bank at Soda Springs Idaho by the bank's Board of Directors. Strickfaden, a native Idahoan, began his career in 1940 with the Idaho First National Bank in Nez Perce and rose to manager of the new Council Idaho office.

Pioneers Dedicate Utah Cemetery Marker

A dedication ceremony honors early Utah pioneers with a Historic Marker at a cemetery. Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp S led the effort with local supporters from Salt Lake City joining in the afternoon event. Speakers noted the marker as a fitting tribute in a peaceful, scenic setting.

Red Cross Swim Lessons Schedule In Caribou County

The Red Cross Swim Program begins in Caribou County on June 15, led by Doris Balls Betty Watkins Joel ene Crouse and Pat Reeve Senior and Junior Life Saving students assist this year. Bus routes run from Soda Springs Grace Bancroft with age based departure times and fees due by June 15 to avoid removal from classes.

Great Yellowstone Savings and Loan Plans Soda Springs Branch

The Great Yellowstone Savings and Loan Company announces a charter approval for a Soda Springs branch. Commissioner McCarthy praised the Montpelier firm as it expands after eight and a half months of rapid growth, with assets over a quarter of a million dollars. Davids Son Enlists in United States Air Force

LeRoy Davids of Bancroft at Pocatello entered the Air Force process in Boise and will be sworn in in June. He departs by plane for Lackland Air Force Base Texas for preliminary training. Production Credit Assn Opens Soda Springs Office

The Eastern Idaho Production Credit Assn plans a new Soda Springs office on the mezzanine of the MacKenzie Electric building beside Idan-Ha Theatre. Manager will be Mathel D. Hale of Pocatello with his family moving in once housing is arranged. The PCA is a farmer and stockman owned local credit co operative offering loans for farm and ranch needs with total loans to members at 10 347 227 and assets of 11 784 928 as of December 31 1962.

First Wedding In New Territory Celebrated At Fort Connor

The first Idaho Territory wedding, July 30 1863 at Fort Connor near Soda Springs, joined Mary Christoferson and Nells Anderson in pioneer style. Lieutenant Shoemaker officiated as justice of the peace and land trustee, followed by an open air dance as soldiers and settlers celebrated under western stars. Anderson, a Danish immigrant, ran the area’s first private business repairing wagons and making nails and iron shoes. Their family included ten children with alive descendants in Spokane and Pocatello.
