Idaho Opposes High Oneida Dam Water Transfer Plan
Caribou County Water Board favors a low Oneida Dam to keep water in Idaho. The proposal would divert Bear River flows and Bear Lake storage to Utah, with about 537 thousand acre feet shared regionally. Officials argue for Idaho safeguards and coordinated hydrology to prevent flooding and protect bottom land.
