Rock and Hobby Show Attracts Over 1000 People
The Bear River Valley Rock and Hobby Show at Soda Springs Junior High drew about 1 901 visitors with many more unregistered. The event opened Saturday at 9 am with a parade and ceremonies led by local leaders including Mayor Chris Phelps and Bishop Rasmussen. Exhibits ranged from rocks and arrowheads to hobby shop displays and vintage bottles, with notable guests from Smithsonian support staff and regional clubs. The show plans to become an annual event held on the third weekend in May.

Poppy Day Observance in Soda Springs May 25
The American Legion Auxiliary Blackburn Call No 62 organizes Poppy Day in Soda Springs May 25 to honor Vietnam and other war dead and support disabled veterans. Volunteers distribute the scarlet poppies made by disabled veterans in hospitals and convalescent centers as a token of gratitude and fundraising.

Tin Cup Road Construction Begins May 20
Construction started May 20 on 9.7 miles of Tin Cup Road to be rerouted reconstructed and oil surfaced by Burgraf Contractors Idaho Falls and Rocky Mountain Construction Co subcontractors. About five miles remain gravel as work continues through summer.

Cattle Drive Through Tin Cup Road Planned This Weekend

Caribou County bicycle safety program checks 400 bikes
Over 400 bicycles were checked in a county wide Bicycle Safety Program organized by the Caribou County Extension Homemakers Council in cooperation with local groups. The effort involved 68 participants and included leaders such as Marjean Duren Howard Tankersley Mae Williams Gwen Budge and other council representatives.
