Power company expanding grid with new transformers and lines
UP&L and Light Co continued their expansion program in 1966, including a 136000 dollar pres- ay 46,000 volt system upgrade and a 400000 dollar transformer near Preston to boost southeastern Idaho power supply. Additional projects include Malad City transformers, a Santos expansion near Soda Springs, a Cokeville to Border line, new feeders in Stone Idaho and Snowville Utah, and lightning arresters to cut outages. The plan aims to serve 250000 people while lowering average kilowatt hour costs and increasing tax revenue for local counties.
