Idaho Water Resource Board Sees No Snake River Diversion
Statewide Idaho water needs studies project 100 year demands with no Snake River water available for out of state diversion. The inventory and related studies, begun in 1968, map irrigation, municipal needs, recreation, water quality and reservoir sites, highlighting rising regional demand and a plan guiding public decision makers. Wayne Haas notes only 16 percent of Snake River water exits Idaho toward the Columbia system, underscoring tight future supplies.
