Smith Jack Gibbs and County Treasurer ag Pearl Fryar met in Boise last week as a Hill committee representative discussed receiving additional funds for Caribou Hospital. Action for hospital funding to begin early July was noted.
A lightning strike damaged the southwest corner of the Sibbett home at 220 East 2nd North on Monday night. The roof furnace and electrical wiring were affected, with fire and damage reported to the residence.
The Farmers Home Administration reports over 2000 rural residents aged 62 and older have benefited since 1962 as the program grows through 1966. New provisions allow 50 year loans at five percent to private firms cooperatives or state local agencies to fund senior rental housing with heat water and nearby services. Funds also support land and building acquisitions to improve living conditions for low income rural families and the elderly.
Virginia Paetsch, former Ptings resident, wed Allan Cox of Provo in a Temple Friday ceremony. The couple planned a wedding trip through Nevada Arizona and the national parks. Cox will reside in Provo Utah after the trip. Guests Richard Morgan Lynn Pat from Nicus Nebraska visited two weeks at the home of Mr and Mrs Joe ar in Soda ec.
The Soda Springs Motorcycle Club held its first day of races on Sunday June 18 drawing a larger crowd and more entrants than expected. Winners included Gary Olson Idaho Falls 100cc Hodaka and Gretchen Call Soda Springs in the powderpuff race with multiple riders earning top spots across 100cc B Main C Main 250cc classes open and sweepstakes events.
The Conda Reunion gathers at Hooper Spring on July 2 starting noon for current and former Conda residents and friends. Each family brings their own lunch and joins in a day of fellowship.

Delegates Olive Lansberry Dorie Lansberry and Ora Lansberry represented the Soda Springs BPW Club at the state convention of the Federation of Professional Women's Clubs held June 16 to 18 at the Holiday Inn in Idaho Falls. The Yellowstone District hosted the three day event with business meetings banquets and installation of new state officers. National representative Mabel R. McClanaghan of Appleton Wisconsin was present as current president elect of the National Federation BPW Clubs.

Ace Chevrolet Company in Soda Springs suffered about 500 dollars in damage Tuesday evening when a car parked in front of the showroom slipped into reverse, smashing two large windows and a supporting beam. Barbara Swan of Soda Springs was the driver.
Pennie Jane Lamoreaux nine year old Miss Frosh Soda Springs won a trophy at the seventh Idaho State Accordion Festival in Boise. She played in the massed accordion band with 75 contestants under conductor Daniel Desiderio, four numbers performed in a Saturday concert. Desiderio praised the youths as a credit to Idaho.
The Synod of Idaho met at the College of Idaho in Caldwell for a three day conference to set church policies and conduct regional business. Delegates from Soda Springs Presbyterian Church included Ruling Elder Gladys Hildreth and Rev. David Crawford.
Belden B. Durtschi named Forester on the Soda Springs Ranger District to assist Ranger Roy H. Daniels in multiple use management of re saplings on Caribou National Forest. Appointment effective June 12 1967. Durtschi, born 1938 in Salt Lake City, has lived in Driggs Provo and Logan.
The Caribou Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 914 will install new officers on Thursday night June 22 at 8 p.m. at the IOOF Hall. Ralph Christensen becomes Post Commander with Max Weaver as Sr. Vice Commander and Max Hadley as Jr. Vice Commander. Merlin Anderson is Post Advocate, Melvin Monroe Chaplain, John Butterfield Sr. Trustee, and Warnell Moore Long Trustee.
Boise reports detail Idaho's implied consent law since 1955. Suspects refuse chemical tests face 90 day license suspensions and may incur a further 30 day loss if convicted of DWI. Administrative officer Donald A. Anderson notes about 1,500 drivers lost licenses in past six years for refusals. hearings rarely pursued. The department urges swift forwarding of refusal affidavits to enforce penalties and reminds suspensions apply to non resident operators as well.
Grace School District 148 names board officers and assigns personnel for the 1967 68 term. Highlights include reelected board chairman Don Peterson and appointments for principals, teachers across grades, transportation and cafeteria staff, and new bus driver applications.
Robert L. Thomas, son of Nelda Herron of Grace Idaho, is promoted to airman pairman Al in the Air Defense Command protecting the US. He is a Grace High School graduate. The Idaho expanse is larger than several eastern states combined.
