The third annual Phosphate Cup Regatta will be held Sunday July 2 on Alexander Reservoir west of Soda Springs under Soda Springs Jaycees sponsorship. Seven speedboat classes compete in 14 heats with defending champion Bryan McDougall returning. A 12 noon rowboat race opens the program featuring District 12 and 13 Jaycees. Fire Calls Reported in Soda Springs Week
Soda Springs Fire Department responded to two calls last week. On Thursday about 9 30 p m the furnace blower failed causing damage to a basement rig and siding at 386 Chateau Thierry occupied by the Marshalls and McNeils of Alexander. Prompt response helped limit damage. Friday about 9 p m the department was called to 380 East First North home of Mr and Mrs George Birger where a tiptoe set wiring began smoking though the TV had not been used since the prior night's electrical storm and may have caused the damage.

Dr. Tigert and Mrs. Allen H. Tigert returned home from Atlantic City after attending the 116th annual American Medical Association meeting.
