LDS Seminary Workshop Attendance and Extended Family Visits
Louis Kjar attended an LDS Seminary Workshop in Salt Lake City from June 11 to 15. His wife and daughter Jennifer visited in Ashton with her parents the Stronks, then returned to Soda Springs as weekend guests. Various relatives traveled to Boise and Rexburg for events and weddings, and guests from San Antonio arrived for a wedding in Soda Springs.

National Guard Trains at Boise Two Weeks
The Preston Unit of 2nd Squadron 116 Armored Cavalry Howitzer Battery trained in Boise from May 25 to June 9. Seven days covered desert conditions and at the end soldiers earned service ribbons while the unit won the Eisenhower Trophy and Harrison Trophy. Attendees from Caribou County included Dwight Lakey Ron Wells Lael Wells Ken Finlayson Mark Hopkins Randy Panter Brad Smith Dave Barthlome and Gordon Henrie Grace Untouchables.

Laurie Krogh and Robert Krogh won pre school to five years, Rick Krogh and Randy Krogh won eight years, Chris McCurdy won nine to eleven, Kathy Murdoch won twelve to sixteen including action and comedy, Susan Shahan and Ruth Ann Munns won seventeen to thirty duet medleys. Winners advance to Bancroft July 6 for county contest at 8 PM under supervisor Mrs. Floyd Toone.
