The ASC program requires farmers to certify acreage and comply with ASCS rules. Payments cannot be issued before July 1. Farms are subject to random spot checks for compliance after final certification. Closed Fire Season Now In Effect

Idaho declares a closed fire season outside cities effective May 10 1972. It is unlawful to burn forest or range lands without a burning permit. Permits and burning guidance available from the Department of Public Lands U S Forest Service BLM and Timber Protective Associations offices. Fire Warden John Shaver warns against false security and states the builder will be liable for suppression costs if a fire escapes.

The Caribou County Volunteer Ambulance Organization, staffed by 11 EMTs, will operate 24 7 with four on duty to respond to calls. VEW Delegates Mr and Mrs Floyd Langston to VFW Convention

Mr and Mrs Floyd Langston of Soda Springs were delegates to the Veterans of Foreign Wars State Convention at Sandpoint June 7 11. Langston is Days at the convention officer and quartermaster of the Soda Springs Post and incoming district quartermaster. Mrs Langston is State Americanism Chairman for the WEW Auxiliary and local auxiliary junior vice president.
